My first time using Illustrator.

So, today (21/11/12) our tutor gave us an assignment to design a recently founded company 'Develop' a logo using Illustrator only.

We weren't allowed to used copied images so everything had to be designed from scratch.

In the brief, our tutor had told us that the company is in the IT industry and expected the logo to have some sort of representation of that, they also expected two different designs from each of us.

As the company was to do with IT, I decided to implement the company name into a computer monitor. Because we weren't allowed to use copied images I had to design the monitor from scratch, below is my first attempt at anything in Illustrator. Safe to say, I need to practise but that's what this blog is all about, documenting my progression.

A little bit about myself.

Hi Bloggers!

In case you are wondering who's blog you're currently viewing, here's a little bit about myself.

We'll start with the basics; my name is Scott Hubbard, I'm an aspiring Graphics Designer, 17 years old and currently studying an IT course which covers a wide variety of IT including Graphics Design.

I have always admired other peoples graphics artwork as well as creating my own. I have been using Adobe Photoshop for a few years now and I am pretty familiar with the program, but it's only recent (these past few months or so) that I've taken this art seriously.

I started my course three weeks later than the rest of the group thus causing me to play catch-up for a while, but so far I have almost completed a unit and have been upgraded from a Level 2 course to Level 3 in which we are doing three extra unit's to the Level 2's. This course covers a wide variety of IT including; Graphics Design, Website Design/Development, Programming, Game Designing and much more!

My plan with this blog and my new YouTube channel is to record and publicly present my progress in the IT world, primarily Graphics Design but if I find something interesting then I will post it on the blog. As well as documenting my progress, I plan on creating tutorials and sharing what I have learnt on this course covering a number of programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. I will also be providing links to useful and inspiring websites in which I come across along the way.

I would really appreciate it if you could subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel so you can keep up to date with everything I post. Depending on the success of this project, I may create my own website in which people can share their ideas, knowledge and show off some of their digital art.
